At the rise of the new millennium, ex members of long disappeared Latin hard rock band “Phantom” decided to redirect their musical style and integrate new elements to their music. This change has generated a whole new concept: NUX... .. The band mastered their own musical style: hard rock mixed with industrial and electronic sound. This style of music was new and revolutionary for Dominican Republic... .. Anyway, these Latin Rockers decided to attempt their luck, leaving old protest songs behind, and created a new scene for sensuality and metaphor... .. From this major change came their first hit single “Súcubos” which has generated a steady buzz in the Dominican rock scene. Acceptance was such that they managed to air this song through local radio stations all over Santo Domingo... .. In 2004 they edit their first album, “Oxes” a compilation of well done arrangements, accurate vocals and interesting mixes. From this album four major hits topped the charts in rock radio stations in Santo Domingo: “S.A.D.O”, “Los Daños que Provocas”, “Máquina” and a remake of 1984.. Spanish band’s “La Unión” song “Lobo-Hombre en Paris”... .. 2005 was a year of many concerts, interviews and the release of their first video for the song “Los Daños que Provocas”... NUX decided to hit back the studio and start recording their second album. In November 2006 the band released “Equilibrio” with a concert in the Hard Rock Café Santo Domingo. As part of the show a new video was revealed for the song “Igual que Ayer”, and with great confidence the six members of the band harvested in one night the attention of a media thirsty for the unveiling of such well kept secret... .. La agrupación NUX se forma a mediados del año 2000 en Santo Domingo, Republica Dominica. La banda se caracterizó por mezclar el Hard Rock con música electrónica, revolucionando el esquema de producir música “Rock” en nuestro país, con letras llamativas enfocadas a la metáfora, la sensualidad y los sentimientos. .. .. En el 2003 lanzan el sencillo: “Lobo-Hombre en París” (Tributo al grupo español “La Unión”), el cual se convirtió de inmediato en un éxito radial, manteniéndose en la posición No. 1 por más de 7 semanas en varias emisoras. .. .. A este le siguieron otros éxitos tales como: “Maquina”, “Los Daños Que Provocas”, entre otros. .. .. En el 2004 ponen a circular en el mercado su primera producción discográfica titulada “OXES”, de la cual se extrajeron los sencillos que convirtió a NUX en la primera Banda Dominicana que se colocó 3 años consecutivos en la posición 1 de los listados anuales de Rock local de la emisora X-102, además de alcanzar las primeras posiciones en los listados de las demás emisoras del género rock a nivel nacional (Radio Listin 99.7 FM, La Nota Diferente 95.7 FM, entre otras). .. .. Sus presentaciones en vivo cargadas de mucha energía y un estilo musical intenso, le hicieron posicionarse como una de las bandas más importantes en nuestro país. .. .. Su imagen tomó un carácter importante, impactando al publico que asistía a los eventos, y con esto nace la iniciativa de llevar su música a lo visual, lo cual se concreta a principios del 2005 con la filmación de su primer video musical, del sencillo “Los Daños Que Provocas”. .. .. Después de 2 años de que la agrupación lanzara su primera producción “OXES” y agotara un sin numero de presentaciones en todo territorio nacional, NUX se preparaba para lanzar su segunda producción, para ello, une fuerzas con el sello disquero Just More Records. .. .. En el primer cuatrimestre el año 2006 NUX lanza “Cada Vez”, mostrando un sonido mas fresco y mas experimentado. En agosto NUX es homenajeado y entra al Salon de la Fama del Rock Dominicano en la apertura del Hard Rock Café Santo Domingo. .. .. En octubre de ese mismo año, NUX lanza “Igual que Ayer” el segundo sencillo de la su nueva producción y en el mes Noviembre, en el escenario de Hard Rock Café celebra el lanzamiento de su nuevo álbum titulado “EQUILIBRIO”, así como también su segundo video, esta vez del sencillo “Igual que Ayer”. .... En el 2007 la agrupación es nominada por ACROARTE en la categoría Pop / Rock de los premios Casandra.
